cedar city

This weekend Josh & I went to Cedar City. My cross country girls had a race down there so we made a big trip of it. There was a cross country team flying in from Hawaii to come to this meet and then they are going to stay with the timpview kids and work out with us for a couple days. On our way down to the reace we stopped at SUU to learn a polineasian dance from a couple kids on our team. (On monday we're having a luau with the Hawaiian team and we wanted to impress them... I mean obviously- look how great we look in the photo!) But, It was so pretty down there though! After the meet we stayed in a hotel at the Brian Head ski resort, and ran a couple pretty runs up there around cedar breaks.

Timpview Cross Country

These hooligans are the girls on my Cross country team! (They are pointing at a mountain they had run up the day earlier.) They are the best thing about my job! The season is over in another 3 weeks... but we are really excited because we hope to kick butt! There has only been one 4A team that's beat us this year so we're excited to see what we can do at state! We've got a couple of head cases so as long as we can keep them calm (and un-injured) we should be in good shape!

Wake Surfing

Last week Josh and I went boating with my sis. and her boyfriend. I discovered the new adventure of Wake surfing. If you haven't done it then you should. You take a rope that's about 8 ft. long and then you take a surfboard and you just pull yourself up and there you are surfing on the wake just right behind the boat! I'm kindof impared when it comes to stuff like this so it took me about 8 tries to get up, But man, it was pretty awesome!

You're a smart one!

So, the other day Josh took his Optometry admissions test. He did really well, better than he expected. His score put him in the 90th percentile. After he found this out he was going around saying how smart he was and how he's not "the dumb one" in the family any more. A few hours after he'd found out how "brilliant" he was we were going to go grocery shopping. We walked out to the parking lot, in broad daylight, to find that Josh's car was not in his parking spot. He starts freaking out and saying his car is stolen, he'd just seen it in his spot an hour ago! I just kept saying are you sure? did you park it on the street or somewhere else? He was sure he'd parked it there and it had been stolen. He then gets on his phone, still freaking out, and dials the police... waiting for the police to pick up the phone he remembered- "oh, I drove my car up to campus and it's still up there" Ha!

new beginnings

Today is the first day ever for my blog. I don't really know how this whole blog thing is going to work out for me but I have high hopes! I thought maybe if I just write some random stuff then I could check out my blog and make sure it's working properly.
